Kixpo weekend…

Wow….well, Kixpo weekend! Long & tiring, but overall went VERY WELL. Very happy to have been part of Kixpo this year; especially being part of the Dead Stock crew who is responsible for Kixpo.

Friday

Well, we start off Friday early by going into the Jagger Mafia show w/Jagger, Jasmine, Mondo, Dean, Jantzen, and Jimmy. Info-Red and I talk about Kixpo and everything going on for the weekend. Jagger and the rest of the team gave the us opportunity to stay on the air for two segments to speak on Kixpo. After kickin’ it with Jagger and Jagger asking Info-Red to do the official Jagger Mafia rap; we made our way out! Thanks to Jagger and Jantzen for always hooking us up!!!

Friday evening at Sport Sole went very well, the food was GREAT and on point. They had a lot of drinks available for everyone. And they had a sale going on for EVERYTHING in the store…

Friday night at Zubar was insane! Arrived at Zubar a little bit after 11pm and it was a packed house already! Kicked it with all the Dead Stock homies and the Thug Boss crew; had a couple few extra drinks on Friday night and we shut down Zubar, literally!

Saturday

Arrived to Life in Deep Ellum a little late (sorry guys!) but I was a little hung over and I had to scoop up my squad. We got there and we (grafwurks) set-up the table and set up all our merch! We got a very good response on the tees and a very good response on the paintings done by Manny! The NovaLab Project table was right next to ours (grafwurks). Mean while, our good friend Crisco was outside in the “lobby” area and was taking pictures of everyone coming in and what not…Kixpo was insane! Thug Boss had three new designs; the Kixpo x Thug Boss collab, Richie Rich –the mexican Richie Rich, and the dollar bill tank! And I had to pick up all three designs! Index had the official Kixpo skate decks and the matching Kixpo x Thug Boss skate deck. The homies of Sour Grapes were in the building as was The Yard from San Antonio/Austin. Meanwhile, Marc of Mofo Visualz, Nezo of Sour Grapes, QBA, and IZK were in the lounge area doing some live painting w/the sounds of Junky Van. And outside, Alpha and Sopa of the Sour Grapes were getting down on a couple of boards with some graffiti. Overall, Kixpo was fun; in the Dead Stock guys eyes; a success! We (Dead Stock) put in a lot of time and effort into making Kixpo 2008 WAY better than last years. And I think that the hard work paid off in the end and put Dallas on the map!

Saturday night at Zubar at the official Kixpo after-party. Dj Love was putting it down with all the old school hip hop jams! We arrived at little after 11pm once again and it was a little slow, but by 12:30ish it picked up and got packed. It was a good night, but we headed out pretty early around 1am due to the fact that I was falling asleep sitting there (as I am now).

Sunday

Sunday was good; the 4on4 basketball tourney went very well at Reverchon Park. Full Throttle was in full effect and giving away their product by the bundles. I never really tasted Full Throttle until Sunday, and I must admit; it wasn’t half bad. I believe it was Dallas’ Elite who took the 4on4 basketball tourney, along with their own trophy and $400 bucks cash!!! And big ups to Full Throttle for lacing up the Dead Stock crew with a couple of cases of Full Throttle.

Overall, Kixpo weekend was a success! Thank you to everyone who attended, see you next year and make sure you’re staying up to date with Dead Stock

(pictures will be up shortly – later today!!!)

Mean while; hit up the homie KiddRae over at http://kiddrae254.com/wordpress/

Doomtree drops new album today – July 29, 2008

Features work from the entire Doomtree collective…

The first “official” record by the entire crew. By “official” we mean that this is what we mean—and have meant all along. After years of burying songs in the back yard or putting out False Hopeses that we could brush off as experiments, this is pretty much exactly what we’ve been trying to do. And we’re owning up to it, son. Hate on it. Love on it. We certainly do both, and couldn’t be more excited for you to feel feelings with and all over us. Yikes.

Seriously, this album has something you’ll like on it. If it doesn’t then you have no business calling yourself a fan of hip hop or popular music in general. Speaking of which, do you call yourself a fan of music often? In public? Like “I am a fan of music, and I do not care for this”? That’s not all that cool, dude. Keep that shit to yourself.

Pre-orders come with new pins, stickers, an autographed poster, and whatever else we might come up with between now and then (e.g. deceptively threatening white powders, expired coupons, fingernail clippings, etc).

1. Close Your Ears (intro)
2. Drumsticks
3. Gander Back
4. The Wren
5. Gameshow Host
6. Dots & Dashes
7. Game Over
8. Real Class (interlude)
9. Last Call
10. Accident
11. Sadie Hawkins
12. The Walrus (interlude)
13. Twentyfourseven
14. Let Me Tell You, Baby
15. Down the Line
16. Kid Gloves
17. Pop Gun War
18. Reintroduction
19. Liver Let Die
20. I’m Talking
21. Jaded
