This is part one of our double header interview for this month, consider this your Christmas present from Grafwurks….read up! and enjoy!

Grafwurks: Let’s get this out of the way, we’re all dying to know, what is Your favorite kind of ice cream?
Nucleus: Blue Bell Strawberry.

Grafwurks: What has influenced you to become an emcee?
Nucleus: Growing up, I listened to cats  like KRS-ONE, Big Daddy Kane, 3rd Bass, and Tribe, to name a few. That laid  the foundation as to what an emcee is. I’m outspoken, so I naturally  gravitated to speaking in rhyme on the mic.

Grafwurks: This is a question we tend to ask everyone, what do you think of the hip hop scene in Dallas?
Nucleus: It’s lost right now. Though Dallas is a major market  business wise, musically it’s behind. To be noticed, we need to step up in  talent, commitment, and business sense.

Grafwurks: Can we expect anything from you some time soon?
Nucleus: I’m currently working on a  solo project called “A Fire is Born.” Plus look out for new Pentagon as well.

Grafwurks: Grafwurks knows that you run with Hypnotic Tunez & The Pentagon, can you tell us a little about them, what are you guys all about?
Nucleus: HTZ is a DFW  based hip hop collective, though we do have a member based out of New  Mexico. It’s a means for its members to share ideas, resources, gain  feedback, and create music. The Pentagon is a musical military entity led by  5-star generals. It is the source from which the power is controlled.

Grafwurks: When you’re not doing the emcee thing, what are you doing with your spare time?
Nucleus: Gearing up for Kixpo 2008, copping kicks, studying  Mesoamerican civilizations, and selling anything not nailed down.

Grafwurks: What are your 3 favorite songs?
Nucleus: “Immigrant Song” Led Zeppelin
“Return of the Boom Bap” KRS-One

“My Body is a Cage” Arcade Fire

Grafwurks: Favorite spot to chill @ in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area?
Nucleus: Cesar’s Tacos - #1 on Davis.

Grafwurks: We also know that you put on a couple of shows from time to time, when you can honor the us with a live session, what is your favorite spot to perform at?
Nucleus: The Fallout, for the free drinks and fajitas!

Grafwurks: We know you guys get a little political, what do you thing of the government & what they’re doing with society?
Nucleus: The Secret Government and  Secret Societies are doing exactly as they please with the world. They watch  you, track you, capture you, and exterminate you. They’re reading this as I  type…

Grafwurks: What do you think of all the deportations going on in Irving with the 287g project?
Nucleus: My people were here on this continent ten of thousands of  years before the Rio Grand was a political border. We will continue to  dominate and populate the landscape. Europeans have only been here just over  500 years. No one deported them when they stole land, invaded, and raped the  Americas. And yet, we’re the foreigners, illegals. This is not opinion, this is fact, don’t shoot the messenger.

Grafwurks: Another question we tend to ask everyone, what phone are you rockin’ these days?
Nucleus: I’m burning minutes on a T-Mobile DASH. I’m looking to upgrade to the RAZR 2, so if yall got the hook up…..

Grafwurks: If you had to pick, whose your all time favorite emcee?
Nucleus: KRS-One, hands  down.

Grafwurks: Anything shout outs or anything you wanna say to our readers?
Nucleus: Shout to The Pentagon, HTZ, the Dead Stock Shoeciety, www.kixpo.com, Lady E, Ma Dukes, Junky Van, the Dallas Cowboys, my peeps holdin it down in Mexico,  Grafwurks, KNON 89.3fm, Google, Team Ack Right, Houston Summit, Nike,  Jordan Brand, Mapex Drums, Quetzalcoatl, Popocatepetl….
