Breaking Barriers is an annual event benefiting the Comin’ Up Gang Intervention Program of Greater Fort Worth. This will be the fourth installment of Breaking Barriers. The Club is located 2 miles north of downtown Fort Worth in the Northside Cowtown area and is easily accessible through public transportation as well as multiple highway routes. With the event being held at a community type center, it is a ZERO-Tolerance Zone with adequate security on hand. To date, the track record has been good and there have never been any major problems or negative publicity from the event.

The main goal of this jam is to raise money for the Comin’ Up Gang Intervention Program of Greater Fort Worth for their youth and gang intervention programs. One of their most successful programs is the Comin’ Up Gang Intervention program which works with local youth to get them off the streets and into a night program. The Club provides a safe facility where they can hang out with other peers, play basketball, breakdance as well as help guide both teenagers and adolescents to a productive adulthood. The second goal of this jam is to provide a platform for interested youths to gain recognition amongst their peers and others. Competition drives innovation. We see a lot of local youth going to these gyms to practice their breakdancing skills. This is the perfect opportunity for them to get some real experience in applying what they’ve learned…boosting confidence and self-esteem.
